Central Valley water damage reconstruction

Bathroom Water Damage Reconstruction — We Find the Source. We Fix It Right.

Most water damage is caused by a remodel that was done wrong the first time. We document the failure, remove it completely, and rebuild it correctly.

Evidence before estimates

How We Diagnose

Visual inspection

We trace the visible evidence: failed joints, cracked grout lines, staining, movement, and improper transitions. The goal is not to cover a symptom; it is to identify the assembly that allowed water past its intended boundary.

Moisture mapping

We map the moisture beyond the obvious damage so the scope follows the water, not the surface finish. Readings are documented before demolition so concealed deterioration is not left behind.

Structural assessment

Once access is opened, we inspect framing, subfloor, wallboard, and drain connections for loss of integrity. We separate cosmetic damage from structural repair and write the scope accordingly.

What failed

Common Failure Points

Failed shower pan

What we find: liner failures, poor slope, and water held below the tile assembly.

What we do: remove the failed pan, correct drainage, and rebuild a properly integrated base.

No waterproofing membrane

What we find: tile and backer board installed without a continuous waterproofing system.

What we do: remove compromised materials and install a complete membrane system at walls, seams, and penetrations.

Improper drain assembly

What we find: loose, unsealed, or incorrectly connected drain components below the finish surface.

What we do: repair the drain assembly, verify the connection, and integrate it with the waterproofing system.

Grout-only waterproofing

What we find: a bathroom built on the assumption that grout alone stops water.

What we do: rebuild to the standard—tile and grout are finish materials, not the waterproofing layer.

Controlled reconstruction

The Rebuild Process

  1. 01

    Document & Demo

We document the failed assembly and remove affected finishes to the extent required for a complete repair.

  2. 02

    Dry Out & Assess

We map remaining moisture, assess substrate condition, and confirm what can be retained versus replaced.

  3. 03

    Structural Repair

We repair compromised framing, subfloor, and backing so the new assembly has a sound base.

  4. 04

    Waterproof & Rebuild

We install the correct drainage and waterproofing details before rebuilding the room to the specified finish.

  5. 05

    Final Inspection

We review the completed work, photo documentation, and scope so the finished bathroom has a clear record.
